Depending on weather, you can also walk (without using Metro) to a number of popular destinations: the US Capitol, Mall and the Supreme Court are all a 10-12 block walk. 
The Capitol Hill neighborhood is known for its historic properties and "old world" charm... yet it has also gone through an amazing transformation over the past several years with lots of new and trendy restaurants.

The first floor apartment is available.  The unit has 2 bedrooms with Queen beds and a fold-out sofa in the living room and its own central air/central heat control.  Linens, towels, kitchware, etc are all provided.  The first floor unit has access to the garage which can fit one standard size car.
