Continental Airlines, in cooperation with the Transprotation Security Administration will let passenders board planes without a paper boarding pass beginning December 4 at the Houston International Airport. The airlines will send a code to the Passendgers cell phone or PDA. The bar code stores the pasengers name and flight information. It will be scanned using a hand held device at check-in.
It is reported by the Houston Cronicle that Mark Bergsrud, a Continental Executive, stated that the airlines have been in favor of this for quite a long time. Other Airlines will follow suit. Air Canada has been using cell phone technology since September 2007.
